Terms of Service
Last updated 19 August 2026
These terms apply to every school, staff member, parent and student who uses Vidya. By creating or using an account you agree to them.
1. The service
Vidya is a multi-school management platform providing modules such as admissions, attendance, timetable, homework, exams, fees, transport, messaging and assistant features. Modules available to a school depend on the plan it subscribes to.
2. Accounts and access
- School administrators create accounts for staff, drivers and parents. Each account is personal and must not be shared.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity under your account.
- We may suspend an account that is being used to harm other users or the service.
- Schools must remove access promptly when a staff member leaves.
3. School responsibilities
- Ensure it has the right to upload the student, parent and staff information it enters.
- Keep records accurate, and correct them when informed of an error.
- Use notifications for legitimate school communication only, not marketing to parents on behalf of third parties.
- Comply with applicable Indian law, including rules on child safety and record keeping.
4. Acceptable use
You may not:
- Attempt to access data belonging to another school or another user.
- Probe, scan or interfere with the service or its infrastructure.
- Upload malware, unlawful content, or content that harasses or endangers a child.
- Resell or white-label the service without a written agreement.
5. Plans, fees and payment
Subscription pricing is shown on the home page. Invoices may be settled online or offline (cash, cheque or bank transfer); offline payments are recorded in the platform once received. Fees are exclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Non-payment may lead to a suspension of access after prior notice.
Cancellation and refund handling is described on the Refunds & Cancellation page.
6. Data ownership
A school owns the data it enters. We do not claim rights over it. We process it to run the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. On termination, schools may request an export before deletion.
7. Assistant features
Assistant and voice features generate suggestions. They can be wrong. A human must review any output before it is used for a decision that affects a student — for example marks, attendance corrections or disciplinary records.
8. Availability and support
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance is announced where practical. Support requests can be raised through the in-app support module or the contact page.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising from the service is limited to the subscription fees paid by the school in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by data entered incorrectly by a school's own users.
10. Termination and changes
A school may stop using the service at any time. We may end an account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms. We may update these terms; material changes will be notified in the app before they take effect.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, with courts in Karnataka having jurisdiction.
